The Relationship Between Mathematics And Physics

Physics is an essential branch of Science in which we study matter, energy and the relationship between them. It is a common proverb that Physics is a whole science and all others are stamp collecting. That’s why there are a lot of branches of Physics like Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Solid State Physics and Mathematical Methods of Physics. Mathematics is considered as an abstract science of numbers, quantities, and spaces. The area of Mathematics is also very broad and it has many branches like Algebra, Trigonometry, and Geometry etc. There is a solid relationship between Mathematics and Physics. If you don’t have enough idea about the relationship between Mathematics and Physics, then you can get help from experts in academic writing services. The relationship between Mathematics and Physics is explained below;

  • Unintended consequences

It is not a surprising thing that Mathematics is useful in Physics. Its reason is that to live in this world, we will have to measure, count, and understand the different patterns. All of these patterns come into Physical quantities. If we want to measure these Physical quantities, then we will have to get help from Mathematics. Moreover, Mathematics is also helpful in Physics in various ways like if we want to measure the speed of light, then Mathematics is also helpful for us. Moreover, Mathematics is also helpful for us to take readings in different kinds of Physical experiments. For example, if we perform a Physical experiment about ‘Measure the diameter of a ball with the help of a Screw gauge’, then Mathematics is also helpful for us.

  • Simplicity

In Physics, we will have to come across a lot of mathematical concepts. We can also explain these concepts in theoretical form. To understand these concepts in theoretical form is not an easy task for the students. It is easy for the students to explain these concepts in the mathematical form. For example, we can explain the Coulomb’s law in the Mathematical form as;

F = Kq1q2/r2

If we try to explain this concept in theoretical form, then we come to know that the force of attraction or repulsion between two point charges is directly proportional to the product of the magnitude of their charges and it is also inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them. Therefore, we can say that mathematics is also helpful for us to simplify the physical concepts.

  • Precision

There are also some physical problems that are attached to the Mathematics and it is hard for us to understand these problems without simplifying them. For example, the value of k in the case of Coulomb’s law is 8987551787.3681764 Newton Meter Per square Coulomb. No doubt, it is very difficult for us to remember such kinds of mathematical quantities. Under such a situation, we will have to get help from a mathematical concept known as Scientific Notation. According to this concept, we can write this essential value as 9X10^9. It is easy for us to remember this value rather than 8987551787.3681764. In a similar way, there are thousands of other Physical examples are available that can be written with the help of these kinds of mathematical concepts.
